Happy Holidays: DIY Christmas Gift Box

DIY Christmas Gift Box

Yes, I am that one mom that will make a gift box for my daughter’s teacher instead of getting something already made. I love being able to add whatever I want into a gift box to add as many personal touches as I can. Whenever I make a gift box, I head over to Michael’s first and get the basics that I need. This includes a beautiful gift box or basket to be my base, mason jars, and any other little decorations that will make the box pop.

I wanted to make a sweet candy box for Sydney’s teacher. So I picked up a medium sized mason jar and two smaller ones. In the medium one, I placed pre-mixed chocolate chip cookies and hand wrote the recipe on a cute little card. For the two smaller ones, I put m&ms and Reese’s Pieces. This way, her teacher could either add them into the cookie mix or pick at them throughout the day.

Next, I added a Christmas coffee mug from Target. I love all the mugs that they have and they always have such a beautiful selection to choose from. I wanted to keep with the more green theme, so I picked up this “Oh What Fun!” mug for her to sip her morning coffee or last night hot cocoa. I thought about adding coffee or hot cocoa, but was not sure what flavor she would like. Instead, I placed a Stirstick in White Chocolate Peppermint. (Can’t go wrong with that flavor at this time of the year!) Finally, I finished it off with a gift card to Target. I mean, who doesn’t love shopping at Target, right?
