Every year, you hear the same resolutions from everyone. I want to be healthier. I want to make more money. I want to be a better me. This year, I wanted to dig a little deeper into my resolutions.
Make better choices
This is my overall first resolution of the year. To make better choices. This is basically for my everyday life. I want to keep myself accountable and make sure that I really think through everything. I do not want to make those spur of the moment choices that I know I am going to regret in literally an hour. This means asking myself “Do i really need that delicious Starbucks Frappe when I could make a healthier (and cheaper) version at home?” and “Do I really need another purse? Even if it is a color I really don’t have..”
Yep its the hard questions that we really do not want to ask ourselves but we know we must so we can build to that bigger, better life we have been wanting for years.
Using my time wisely and for the better
I love the time that I get to have at home, away from work. But this past year, I really did not use my time wisely. Literally a week before the year ended, I binge watched The Magicians on Netflix instead of getting some fresh air out of the house or even just spending time planning the blog for the new year.
This year, I want to cut back on the time we spend in the house. My daughter is getting older and she isn’t going to remember the times binge watching shows on the couch with her mom. She is going to remember us spending time shopping and hiding from my boyfriend while we do it.
Lastly, I want to put more “blood, sweat and tears” into the blog
I think to myself a lot, why can’t I get my blog up and running? I mean it is my absolute passion, I love being able to write for myself and let you guys know what I love. But you want to know where it comes back to? Using my time wisely and making sure I am making time for the things that are truly important to me in my life.
So if that means staying up later at night when Syd goes to sleep or waking up just a bit earlier on the weekends to get ahead, then so be it. If its truly a dream, it shouldn’t be work, am I right?
Well I hope you guys enjoyed reading my lovely resolutions for the year. I would love to know some of yours so please comment below. Having that accountability from a friend is also great encouragement! xoxo
